Chief Administrative Officer, Post-Acute Care

Richard Espinoza

With more than 20 years of experience as a health care administrator, Richard Espinoza has a documented history of providing successful, efficient and profitable operations across multiple post-acute facilities while meeting and exceeding local, state and federal regulations ensuring the highest level of care. In his role as Chief Administrative Officer, Post-Acute Care for Alameda Health System, he oversees Fairmont Hospital, as well as all acute rehabilitation, sub-acute services, and skilled nursing facilities system wide.

Richard joined Alameda Health System in 2012 and most recently served as the Director of Long-Term Care Operations at Alameda Hospital. During this time, he was responsible for the oversight of distinct part skilled nursing facility beds at Alameda Hospital, South Shore and Park Bridge (formerly Waters Edge).

Mr. Espinoza’s integrated leadership role ensures a seamless continuum of care for all AHS serves, improving patient and family-centered care and further increasing the value AHS provides to its diverse communities.

Prior to joining AHS, Mr. Espinoza served as the Executive Director of five Kindred Healthcare facilities, including Fifth Avenue Healthcare Center, Golden Gate Healthcare Center, Lawton Healthcare Center, Victorian Healthcare Center and Bay View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Education

Mr. Espinoza holds degrees in Legal Studies and Rhetoric from the University of California, Berkeley.
